Dedication and many years of training are required to become a Board Certified Allergist. Four years of college followed by four years of medical school are just the beginning. A three year residency in either Pediatrics or Internal Medicine is followed by two to three years of specialized training in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. After training each physician must be Board Certified in either Pediatrics or Internal Medicine before becoming Board Certified in Allergy/Immunology. All physicians of Allergy & Asthma Specialists, PC are Board Certified in Allergy & Asthma.
Also available to see patients are a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) and a Physician Assistant (PA). Both have advanced medical training and are certified and licensed by the state to care for patients in the same manner as a physician but always under the supervision of a medical doctor (M.D.).
